How to Play
Start:
Players take turns rolling two dice to begin the game.
Gameplay:
A player rolls two dice. The total of the two dice is the number they can use to “close” numbered tiles.
For example, if you roll a 5 and a 3, the total is 8. You can close any combination of tiles that adds up to 8, such as closing tile 8, or closing 5 and 3, or any other valid combination.
If you cannot close any tiles on your turn, you lose your turn and the next player begins theirs.
Turns:
Players continue taking turns. On each turn, a player rolls the dice and tries to close tiles until no more tiles can be closed.
If you manage to close all the tiles (a complete “Shut the Box”), you win the game.
If not, players simply try to close as many tiles as possible.
End of the Game:
The game ends when a player closes all tiles or when no one can close any more tiles.
The player with the fewest remaining open tiles is the winner.
Additional Rules:
If a player rolls the dice and cannot close any tile (because no valid combinations exist), they may either be eliminated or simply lose their turn, depending on the version you’re playing.
Some variations require the player to “reroll” if they fail to close any tiles during their turn.
Notes:
The game can also be played using a scoring system. For example, each open tile counts as points, and players accumulate these points after each round. The player with the lowest total score after several rounds wins.
